President’s Volunteer Service Awards
At Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, we are inspired by the strength our dedicated volunteers bring. Our school could not exist without the support of our focused volunteers. We value and appreciate your shared time, talent, and treasure. All families are asked to donate 24 hours of volunteer service to the school annually, with 4 of those hours specifically dedicated to serving in the lunchroom and at recess. During the 2009-2010 school year, our dedicated parents logged in over 10,000 hours of volunteer time. At $12.50 an hour, this translates into a big savings for the school and our parents equaling $125,000 in man hours! This savings, in turn, translates into more and better programs for students as well as aiding in holding down the overall cost of education. Thank you for your generosity!
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition. Each year, we recognize our volunteers for their commitment to helping others and making connections bringing us closer together as families, neighbors, and communities. We partner with the President’s Volunteer Service Award program, administered through the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. Each year, we recognize our volunteers in three categories define by service hours: Gold 1000+ hours, Silver 500 to 999 hours, and Bronze 200-499 hours.
